Mentor Teacher Training
The Sheppard Method is reinstituting a centuries-old learning practice started by Master Teachers in their fields.
The practice is designed for new teachers to be taught techniques from the Masters themselves.
Instead of being in a classroom with others students and learning the technique by rote, the students follow the Masters as they teach. Students then learn first-hand from the Masters and their instructors whom the Masters personally trained. All learned on a one-to-one basis.
This is the way Risa, a Master Pilates teacher, and many other second-generation Pilates Master teachers learned and honed their craft.
Students may start on their own time, and with scheduled appointments may arrange to meet with Risa.
Frustrated with the saturation of inexperienced “so-called” Pilates teachers who have sprung up everywhere (and who call themselves “Masters” after a short time teaching)
Risa is offering her 35 years of experience in movement, hands-on healing and therapy to individuals who truly want to learn from the best of Masters. The Master teaching also includes the love, integrity and discipline that makes Pilates so integral with today’s society.
Hours of self-study, technique training and observation are included, as is anatomy taught by Janine de Zarn. Initial training is hosted by Risa.
Mentor program with Risa is $8,500.
Mentor program with a Sheppard Method teacher is $5000.
Please call the Westwood studio and make an appointment with Risa Sheppard.
